Mid-week Mumbles: Turkey Anyone?

This week, my mind has been 100 percent focused on work, turkey day and holiday gifts. With the holiday season quickly approaching, the editorial schedule for the next issue of the magazine is super crammed into a few short weeks–leaving no room for error. No pressure. Well, needless to say, my head has been spinning and my editing eyes could use a break, bigtime.

When I haven’t been working, I’ve been daydreaming about pecan pie and juicy turkey slices smothered in cranberry sauce. But most importantly, I’m looking forward to spending time with family and friends next week for Thanksgiving. Plus, I love a holiday that’s dedicated to giving thanks.

Soon after Thanksgiving comes the holidays. I’ve come to the conclusion that boys are nearly impossible to buy gifts for and the girls in my life practically have everything they could ever want or need. This makes my gift-giving hunt quite difficult, to say the least. I’ve written and rewritten gift ideas more times than I can count. I have at least five more presents to purchase and I’m running out of ideas… help!

Before you know it, New Year’s will be here and we’ll be contemplating our resolutions for 2011 and reminiscing about 2010. I don’t know about you, but I really can’t believe it’s almost December.

I’m sure your little lives are just as jam-packed with talks of turkey and the holidays–so this week’s Mid-week Mumbles probably didn’t come as much of a surprise. This time of year really makes me smile. For the rest of the week, be sure to celebrate yourself and give thanks for those around you.

Next week, Mid-week Mumbles will be ENTIRELY DEDICATED TO FOOD. Get ready.

Happy holiday hugs.
