About

I do what I love and I love what I do.

For me, words are natural.

Although a Texan by heart and soul, I headed to the Midwest U.S. to study journalism and discovered that—not only did I enjoy having four seasons for once in my life—but that words and people are most certainly my specialties. While interning for several summers at a PR firm in Houston, I had the opportunity to interact and work with a variety of clients including Simon Property Group, Landry’s Restaurants Inc., Freedom Over Texas, H-E-B and Bailey Banks & Biddle. After those few summers, I knew public relations was for me.

I made the move back to Texas following graduation and began working in PR right away—this time with a different twist. Public relations for one client, one company, one place. A new perspective. A different take on PR.

After a few additional projects were piled on and my to-do list began to grow, I somehow ended up in magazine publishing. Who knew?

The rest is history. I’ve been working in the magazine industry for a several years now and can truly say that I’m doing what I love and I love what I do.

I was then given the opportunity to expand the social media outlets for the company I work for. Social media is now part of my day-to-day job and has widely enhanced my perception of the possibilities and directions of today’s work environment. Digital media tools allow people to connect, interact and establish relationships with each other—all at their fingertips. It’s truly a whole new way of thinking, communicating and doing business.

I guess you could say I wear multiple hats. I do PR, magazine publishing and social media. This combination provides me with a unique perspective on publicity and newsworthiness, seeing not only through the eyes of a PR professional but also through those of a publisher.

Believe it or not, there’s a lot more to me than just work. I love practicing my cooking skills, reading gossip magazines, volunteering, staying fit, playing with my iPhone, watching funny movies, spending time with family and friends, finding good bargains on pretty things, playing with my dog Loui, taking naps when it’s raining, laying on the beach with a good book, AP style and good grammar, shopping at Costco for unnecessary items, singing in the car at the top of my lungs, being pampered, sunshine and traveling. I like to think of life as one big adventure—I’m up for anything.

Let’s do something fabulous.
